Cancer Solstice Week Ahead
The Sun enters Cancer on Thursday, June 20, at 1:51pm PDT/4:51pm EDT/9:51pm BST/6:51am AEDT and reaches its maximum degree of declination in the north.
Hello Friends,
A new week begins with a glow of hopeful visions as information and desires unfold.
You'll become more aware of what's emerging by the end of the week. Some of it may be useful, but some insights may be distracting and potentially disappointing if they don’t meet your expectations.
Curious Venus in Gemini has been stimulating growth and changes from its idealized imaginings with its square with Neptune in Pisces today, just before it enters the gentle protectiveness of Cancer later tonight.
Social connections may become blurred with information distortions as Mercury in Gemini squares Neptune just before it enters Cancer tomorrow, Monday, June 17.
Finally, the Sun in Gemini Twins makes its square with the glamorized yearnings of Neptune—just a few hours before the Sun enters Cancer.
It's as if the Gemini twins are transforming into oxygen and hydrogen and creating water, the mother of all life, to welcome Cancer, the first water sign of the zodiac.
Emotional currents are shifting, but nothing is defined yet. Feel the subtle influences, and don't overdo anything with all this Neptune activity.
Your dreams are best applied to unconditional exchanges as the Moon waxes full to its maximum light on Friday or Saturday, June 21 or 22, depending on your time zone.
Bright clarity is coming.
The Sun is always the star. It's shining brilliantly as the Earth tilts to receive the climax of the longest day of light in the northern hemisphere's 2024 solar year as the Sun enters Cancer, the cosmic nurturer.
As the second cardinal sign, Cancer season revives your courage to overcome your insecurities and other self-delusions to begin again in a more secure way.
The three water signs (Cancer, Scorpio, and Pisces) guide you in understanding the life of your emotions and intuitive heart.
As the fourth and final elemental sign of the zodiac, Cancer completes you and gets you into a new growth phase.
What was abstract becomes manifest, what was unconscious becomes conscious, and what was dependent becomes independent.
Cancer awakens the cosmic, emotional, and environmental womb of life, nourishing and protecting your individualization, which will be complete when the Sun enters Leo.
As a transitional sign, Cancer season is the gateway to new forms of your existence.
This is an extraordinary time with Neptune in the final degree of Pisces, the final degree of the zodiac.
Life experiences are exceeding the conventional bounds. Similar to the Sun's rays reaching its farthest northern distance at the Tropic of Cancer, both Venus and Mercury have already moved beyond that point and are considered out-of-bounds (OOB).
Venus moved beyond the Tropic of Cancer (at 23º26'N) on June 10, and Mercury moved OOB on June 12. Both will be OOB until June 28.
If you were born with a planet OOB, you may feel different from others.
With the current transit in the sky, Venus OOB may be shifting your preferences. You may no longer care about fitting in with other people's idea of normal.
With Mercury OOB, there's a strong capacity for genius, but it doesn't feel like that if you were born with it. With the current OOB transit and Mercury in Gemini squaring Neptune and then entering Cancer while OOB, people may say some wild things.
Depending on your chart and where Mercury is, communications could be playful, unconscious, or simply authentic.
I'll share more about Cancer’s message with the next post about Friday's Capricorn Full Moon and the following New Moon on July 5.
Continuing with the astrological and numerological associations with the Tarot, here's information about how Cancer shows up in your Tarot spreads.
Cancer is the second of four cardinal signs. The cups symbolize all the water signs that begin with Cancer, then Scorpio, and Pisces, revealing how feelings are felt.
All the cardinal signs (Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn) are symbolized by the 2 - 3 - 4 in each of the four suits.
After the indecision of Gemini, symbolized by the Lovers, the Chariot is the major arcana card for Cancer, a symbol of willpower, determination and strength.
The Cancer Chariot empowers you with added confidence to overcome any obstacle. What do you want to overcome in this Cancer season?
Here are the correspondences for the minor arcana during the 30º of Cancer:
The First Decanate, 0º - 9º Cancer, occurs between June 20 and June 30, 2024, and corresponds with the 2 of Cups, indicating a time to pay attention to what you want to attract in love, business, or another form of connection.
The Second Decanate, 10º - 19º Cancer, is between July 1 and July 10, 2024, and corresponds with the 3 of Cups, indicating how by making connections, you can appreciate others more and create more opportunities to celebrate the goodness in life with them.
The Third Decanate, 20º - 29º Cancer, is between July 11 and July 21, 2024, and corresponds with the 4 of Cups, indicating a time you are turning more within to decide what's most important to you so that you only act on what you want to create on your future path.
These three cards offer a wealth of understanding how you are individuating with others.
Over this Cancer season, make a promise to treasure your feelings and give yourself the most exquisite self-nurturing care so that your cup of inner love flows over to every area of your life and the lives of others.

This is so insightful. This line really hit me...."Cancer season revives your courage to overcome your insecurities and other self-delusions to begin again in a more secure way."
The past few months I've been feeling into my insecurities and working on a lot internally. Love the connection to the tarot. Thank you Alyssa!
Your insights and guidance fill me with wonder and hope for the coming months. My dreams are about water and past friendships. The word, “atonement” comes to mind.
