I’m a few days late with this post. I’ve been busy and with the surrender of this waning balsamic moon that will last until the beginning of Cancer New Moon cycle on June 28/29. It’s making self-care essential - especially in these intense times.
There’s a lot to process, and as a U.S. citizen, the recent Supreme Court decisions have shaken me and the majority of Americans to the core.
The Sun glows in Cancer, the receptive energy of the universe, the dark womb of potential that reflects the bond between mother and child, and the nurturance that brings spirit into form.
Intuitive Cancer represents the feminine creative power path of growth and development. While Cancer is all about life, it’s more about protecting your developing life potential.
Cancer is active cardinal feminine water energy. Cancer represents all mothers, all women, their Moon cycles, and the complex emotions and decisions we navigate to guard our truth, and all those we nourish and feed with our love.
Cancer represents the power of the feminine that has been underestimated and denigrated in our world cultures for millennia.
No one has the right to use your body against your will, even to save their life, or the life of another person.
Consider how explicit permission has to be given to get your blood and organs - even after death - and even though there are long lists of people who need your precious body parts to live and thrive.
Whomever denies a woman the right to control her own body is saying she is less than human.
This is evident in the U.S. where guns have more rights than women.
Last week’s SCOTUS decisions were about undemocratic forces undermining the will of the people for power and control.
This is Pluto talking.
You knew this was going to be a transformative year for the U.S. because I’ve been sharing how Pluto is making its first return to the U.S. Pluto at 27°33’ Capricorn this year, with messages for this relatively young nation.
Pluto demonstrates power and its evolution. The power you hold. The power that may hold you. And the power you share or try to hold over others.
The U.S. is a nation that became powerful through unpaid labor and by restricting personal freedom with various forms of enslavement.
Pluto is retrograde and bringing the full truth to light as it returned to 27° with the solstice on June 21. It will make its second retrograde return with the U.S. Pluto on July 11.
Before that, the masculine warrior energy of Mars in Aries continues to heat things up as it passes over the disruptive resistance Eris, the feminine warrior late Monday, June 27.
Mars will then return to the same degree Mars was on the January 6, 2021 attempted coup of the U.S., on the nation’s 246th birthday on July 4.
Mars in Aries will also square Pluto on July 2 and bring out more of the simmering conflict everywhere in the world.
The decisions made last week wouldn’t have passed the vote of the American public. And the majority of the SCOTUS justices were installed by presidents who lost the popular vote.
The 50 states that make up the United States represent a nation increasingly divided. Abortion will be illegal in 26 states. America is growing apart.
This hits hard on American women’s ability to shape their own lives.
Obviously, this is an issue I’m passionate about. This is forced birth in a country that doesn’t even have mandatory maternity leave or universal healthcare.
As a double Cancerian, and an elder who was born with roots to this toxic patriarchy, I’m alarmed how my granddaughter and all the daughters of the U.S. are growing up in a nation that can declare their womb its property.
Cancer energy knows that outer conditions are created by the inner development within the body and its home.
Cancer reflects on history and listens to the emotions, intuition and body intelligence that reveal what’s coming into consciousness.
Cancer represents the vulnerable womb and the visible breasts that nourish and reflect her unconscious conditioning in her culture.
Cancer is also the stomach, that receives and digests the food of life to nourish or reveal discomfort about something that is rising into consciousness.
The Moon, reflecting the light of the Sun, rules Cancer, and the fluid, changing emotions that pull the power of the water body.
When we deny the capacity to feel, the body reveals what’s not right.
The perception of women and how you feel in your body has been changing since Pluto entered Capricorn in 2008, the sign opposite Cancer.
The Saturn/Pluto conjunction in Capricorn in January 2020 brought many realities into focus that couldn’t be ignored.
Now it’s Cancer season and the Sun is reflecting the power of Pluto in Capricorn.
While extremism is clearly in effect as retrograde Saturn in Aquarius returns to square Uranus in Taurus, like it did three times in 2021.
This time the courage of Jupiter in Aries will be midway between Saturn and Uranus and semi-square them both.
This is a cosmic message for every citizen of planet Earth, that there’s a clear revolutionary turn going on from now through December 2022. (Pluto in Capricorn makes its final return to the U.S. Pluto on December 28)
And that brings us back to this week’s Cancer New Moon.
Mystical, compassionate Neptune is slowing down to station retrograde with the Cancer New Moon on Tuesday, June 28, and invites new understanding and healing through your intuition, lucid dreams and other spiritual experiences.
As I shared above, Cancer taps into internal wisdom to create the outer demonstrations of that knowing.
The Sun in Cancer is vibrating this expansive luminous knowing as it squares the rush of inspired courage with Jupiter in Aries the same day of the new moon.
Both irrational and hopeful, depending on your process, retrograde Neptune enhances your inner world.
Until it stations direct on December 3, there could be confusion as inner emotions swirl with the extraordinary — imagined and very real.
With the depth of water and yin energy of the Moon in Cancer conjunct the Sun in Cancer, there’s so much energy to connect with the soul of all things.
The tender-hearted crab carries the compassionate current with her deep feelings and strength of her hard shell.
Growth is the key word of this new lunar cycle.
By feeling the most vulnerable and intimate emotions through conversations with others, since Mercury (your mind) and Venus (your heart) is in all the magical connections of friendly Gemini, you can create space for deeper, more intimate discussions and new ways of thinking about everything.
Cardinal Cancer represents the dishonored inherent strength of all women.
But Cancer the Crab has claws, that she tenaciously uses to defend her material needs.
Her strong shell protects her from all the motions of the world as she holds important boundaries to defend what she knows is her right.
Cancer wants you to know: the price of freedom is constant vigilance.
